Each year, the Garden Tour Committee invites citizens and artists to decorate birdhouses in any manner, theme or fashion. The wooden birdhouses are built by Bill Jette. We give the unadorned birdhouse to those who have agreed to paint, embellish, decorate it. The "artists" then donate the birdhouses back to the Garden Tour to be sold at a silent auction.

This year the 53 unique birdhouses will be displayed at Chapters Bookstore, 78 North Street from Mid June until July 13th, when they will be moved to Unitarian Universalist Church at 175 Wendell Avenue, Pittsfield

There will be a reception and Auction preview on July 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 175 Wendell Ave. Refreshments will be service and all are welcome.

The auction items will then be exhibited during the Garden Tour's Birdhouse Spectacular prior to the Pittsfield Garden Tour, which this year is scheduled for July 17th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, July 18th from noon to 4 p.m. During the Spectacular, the birdhouses will be auctioned on Saturday, July 17th at 5:30 p.m. SHARP at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 175 Wendell Ave. You do not have to have a Garden Tour ticket to bid on birdhouses or other silent auction items.
